Whew!

Thanks so much to everyone who came and met me at Sakuracon. It was the first time I ever really tried selling my art in person and I was overwhelmed by all the positive feedback. I still feel light headed from the convention and it's not all due to being tired, some of that is simply love buzz. Sitting next to Kristen, Anna and Peter was a big positive during the con.

I was very very scared to do this and now I'm feeling much braver.

Please leave a response to this post if you saw me there!

Commission

A couple of very cool people managed to talk me into a commission or two at Sakuracon. I'll try to find their characters names and websites tommorow and post those here as well. Here's one of the sketches.

This picture is of a character by Neolucky named Yewon. The commission I don't have a scan of was a character named Yarrow by Patches.

Sakuracon Artist Alley

I'll be in the artist alley at Sakuracon in Seattle all weekend selling mini paintings, prints, paper craft and buttons alongside Kristen Perry of Merekat Creations. Come say hi if you are in town! Also, let me know you read this post and I'll draw you a dragon. :D

Gummi Venus De Milo

Hooray for obscure Simpsons references!
I made some tiny gummi venus de milos using food grade silicone for the molds with concentrated gelatin and melon flavored koolaid.
Thanks much to Dan Cole for taking these truly awesome photos!

Edit:
Hooray! I've been linked on diylife.com

Charr Holiday

This is the Guild Wars card/wallpaper for 2007 that I did the artwork for. I'm not really used to rendering out images, but I was pretty happy with how it turned out. Of course the more I look at it the more I want to rework some things. For instance, I wish I'd made the color of his belly stand out from the rest of the body color and make the mane a darker brown, like I did on the tail. I was happy to illustrate another side of the Charr personality, so that was super cool.
